After searching the information resources available to us, we did not find any sources stating that individuals with melorheostosis have a reduced life expectancy. The severity of this condition varies among affected individuals. The Melorheostosis Association Web site states, "Due to its rarity and the lack of effective treatment options, long-term prognosis cannot be accurately predicted."
