What's New
#1 CETTrack is an online portal designed to allow applicants to communicate and share draft documents as they build their Collaborative Group and CETT Program Application. CETTrack shows all steps and requirements in the Application Process. The portal also tracks the application through the review process, funding and submission of annual reports. Applicants should contact Andy Faucett at info@CETTProgram.org or 404-778-8420 as early as possible to initiate their CETTrack account. All new Applications must be submitted via CETTrack. #2 The CETT Program was created to increase the number of genetic tests for rare genetic conditions available in CLIA-certified clinical laboratories and to pilot a model of test translation based on collaboration. In the first two years it became evident that building the collaboration was an important role with significant time commitments that were not fully compensated. Each application received after June 1, 2008, qualifies for $3,000 in funding to support collaboration development. Researchers play a critical role in the test translation process (see Focus on Researchers). Each application received after June 1, 2008, qualifies for $5,000 to support the translation and clinical consultation activities of the research member(s) of each CETT Program application. Effective educational material is critical to the appropriate use of newly available clinical tests. In 2007, the CETT Program added Kate Reed, MS, CGC, to assist Collaborative Groups as they develop educational materials. The CETT Program now requires two versions of the educational materials rather than three. The materials for non-geneticists and patients and families can be combined. As of June 1, 2008, the CETT Program has increased the funding available to support educational material development from $1,000 to $2,000. SUMMARY: CETT Program applications submitted after June 1, 2008, can receive $10,000 to support collaboration building, researcher involvement and development of educational materials in addition to the funds allocated for test translation. |
