cancer of the ovary that is composed of two types of cells, namely carcinoma cells and sarcoma cells. Ovarian carcinosarcoma is also known as a malignant mixed mullerian tumor of the ovary. The average age of women at the time of diagnosis is 60 to 70 years. Symptoms may include pain in the abdomen or pelvic area, bloating or swelling of the abdomen, quickly feeling full when eating or other digestive issues. The cause of ovarian carcinosarcoma is currently unknown. Treatment usually consists of surgery (sometimes called debulking) and chemotherapy.Ovarian carcinosarcoma is a
