How rare is Fanconi syndrome?

Fanconi syndrome is quite rare.  The exact number of cases of Fanconi syndrome is difficult to determine because there are several causes of this condition, both genetic and environmental.  However, each condition that causes Fanconi syndrome is uncommon.[1]
