Your Question

Is there a life expectancy for Lennox-Gastaut syndrome?

Our Answer

We have identified the following information that we hope you find helpful. If you still have questions, please contact us.

What is the life expectancy for an individual with Lennox-Gastaut syndrome?

While we were unable to locate data describing a life expectancy, the mortality rate associated with Lennox-Gastaut syndrome ranges from 3 to 7%.[1] People with Lennox-Gastaut syndrome have an increased risk of death compared to their peers of the same age. Although the increased risk is not fully understood, it is partly due to poorly controlled seizures and injuries from falls.[2]
