Currently, there is not enough data to determine an average life expectancy for 22q13.3 deletion syndrome because most individuals diagnosed with this syndrome are young children. There are few adults with this diagnosis because this condition was difficult to diagnose prior to the development of certain genetic testing methods known as FISH and array CGH. In general, it is difficult to say what the future will hold for affected individuals, because even when the chromosome abnormalities are similar the health problems can vary widely.
