Infection During Pregnancy or Childbirth
A congenital infection may be difficult to diagnose, as the pregnant person and their fetus/baby may not immediately show any symptoms. However, testing for this disease is available to the mother during pregnancy and to the baby after birth. Health care providers often recommend all pregnant people and babies get testing for this disease even if they don't suspect they have this infection.
