A number of studies show that females with Rubinstein-Taybi syndrome start puberty at about 12 years of age (with a range of 11 to 13 years). The average age of menarche (the onset of menstruation) is about 13.6 years (with a range of 11 to 19 years). These ages of puberty and menarche do not differ from those of the general population.
