The AJCC staging manual shows two staging formats for appendiceal tumors: one for adenocarcinoma of the appendix which is similar to adenocarcinoma staging in the rest of the gastrointestinal tract, and one for typical appendiceal carcinoid tumors. I had my appendix removed approximately 7 weeks ago and found out afterwards there was a 1cm goblet cell carcinoid on the tip of the appendix. I am getting conflicting directions from doctors whether to have regular 3 month check ups or remove the right hemicolon. I'm confused what route to take next. Click here for answer
