    Description: Specific Aim:  Provide an outstanding scientific program reflecting the latest conceptual advances: Invited speakers include leading investigators in epithelial biology and early career scientists with innovative and exciting stories. The program covers areas of persistent interest such as stem cells, regeneration and aging, epithelial adhesion and polarity, epithelial cancers and rare diseases, and explores new topics including the epithelial-environmental interactions, novel regulatory mechanisms involving long noncoding RNAs and chromatin modifiers, exciting advances in live imaging, and genomics approaches to understanding development, carcinogenesis and evolution.

  • From Targets to Treatments: Bridging Autoimmune Research to Advance Understanding of Alopecia Areata, Thursday, December 04, 2014 - Friday, December 05, 2014
    Location: Hyatt Regency, Bethesda, MD
    Description: <p>To share and distill learning from the most current research advances and set strategic research priorities for the next two to five years. The summit is designed to blend concise informative presentations about the newest developments with meaningful discussion among established senior scientists, new investigators and patients who stand to benefit.<span>&nbsp; </span>The summit will accommodate 100 plus participants, including strong representation from young and early career investigators, women, racial minorities and people with disabilities. Invitations to present posters will be broadly disseminated. Some seating is being reserved for patients so that the patient perspective is represented in discussions of research priorities.</p>
