I have had both knees replaced. Several weeks ago my right knee appeared swollen. My orthopedist has taken 70cc of blood out of my knee each time for three times since January. The knee is not infected. He is baffled and at our last meeting he casually mentioned PVNS. It seems unlikely since the knee has already been replaced. I would like him to rule out or rule in PVNS. I believe the diagnosis can only be made by a surgical biopsy. Can you describe the biopsy procedure please? Click here for answer
