The event, sponsored by NCATS and the NIH Clinical Center, aims to raise awareness about rare diseases, the patients they affect and the research collaborations that are addressing rare disease challenges. The day will feature tours, posters and exhibits, and presentations.

    Description: The objectives of the 15th Conference on Human Retrovirology: HTLV and Related Viruses in Leuven, Belgium, are to (1) provide a forum for the presentation of original research pertaining to HTLV-I, HTLV-II, and related human viruses; (2) promote interdisciplinary interaction between basic scientists, epidemiologists, and clinical researchers toward fostering bench-to-bedside research; (3) promote interaction between scientists in the developed and developing world and stimulate international collaboration; and (4) expose students and young scientists to the HTLV research arena and promote their research careers so that this new generation may contribute to the field.
