US-Brazil Human Immunology Conference

Thursday, September 19, 2013 - Saturday, September 21, 2013
Natal, Brazil

The goals of the conference are to: provide a forum for exchange of information from human immunology research in the areas of several infectious diseases; promote collaboration between Brazilian and US investigators; identify knowledge gaps and research priorities; and explore opportunities to advance progress through new research partnerships, including the exchange of cutting-edge technologies. The agenda will allow time for informal interactions among the speakers and other attendees to discuss mutual interests and research needs and initiate new collaborations. A written report of scientific highlights and recommendations from conference participants may be created by the organizers for publication in a scientific journal. If sufficient resources can be obtained from US and Brazilian institutions, it may be possible to support a small number of “seed” or “catalytic” grants to fund collaborative projects that involve Brazilian and US research partners. This conference will allow potential collaborators to meet in person to discuss the development of research applications for such a program, or for other funding opportunities they may identify
