Formation of a Consortium to Develop Common Protocols and Procedure for the Study of Neurocysticercosis in North America

Thursday, November 04, 2010
Atlanta Hilton, Atlanta, GA

This planning meeting addressed the following goals: (1) development of a database and registry for neurocysticercosis seen in the United States; (2) formation of a consortium of a minimum of 6 sites and maximum of 12 sites willing and able to participate; (3) determination of what studies can be performed given the types of patient seen; (4) creation of an outline of protocols that all sites can reasonably follow; and (5) determination of administrative details. The plan or protocol developed will be presented to others who would find benefit in taking part in a study protocol.
